I see that many universities and car manufacturers are experimenting with the concept of self-driving cars. You know, the type where you plug in your destination and the car goes on auto-pilot and takes you to where you want to go, no effort needed on your part.
While this may not be a universal reality in my lifetime, I am excited to know this possibility for life changing driving improvements has some legs. It will eliminate a whole lot of careless, aggressive and just plain stupid behaviors by human drivers.
At its best, this concept could create a world without road rage.
Maybe just a fantasy on my part but, really, don't you think the world would benefit by the elimination of tailgating, cars cutting off other cars in traffic, speeding, vile temperaments and a host of other intolerable driving behaviors that have grown to be commonplace in our world today?
Too bad we will have to wait for that next great wave of technology to realize it.
